Solar Decathlon- A Transitional Housing for SURE WE CAN redemption center, Brooklyn

Circular & Inclusive design

Sure We Can is a recycling center, community space, and sustainability hub that serves as New York City’s only non-profit and homeless-friendly redemption center. The canners make an income by collecting, redeeming, and sorting beverage containers like soda cans and water bottles. This diverse community includes non-English speakers, unhoused people, those with disabilities, and the elderly, with most lacking access to the benefits and protections of traditional employment.
